Altus has formed a number of synergistic joint ventures with companies who are leaders in their respective fields to enhance the Group's capabilities:
Canada Steamship Lines ("CSL") - CSL is world's pioneer and largest operator of belt self-unloaders vessels. Altus has a joint venture with CSL in servicing PT Jawa Power's coal transportation requirements in Indonesia
V. Ships Group -In the year 2000, our Group's ship management services were merged with V. Ships Holdings Ltd's Singapore subsidiary, on a 50-50 Joint Venture to form V.Ships ( Asia ) Pte Ltd ("VSA"). Currently the largest ship management company based in Singapore , VSA is able to offer customers access to the V. Ships Group's crew pool of over 20,000 seafarers and own training centers in the principal areas of sourcing seafarers. Their large fleet and world-wide network consisting of 28 offices, enable Altus to offer unrivaled purchasing power and expertise in all fields of ship management. VSA is responsible for the Asian Pacific market and offers ship management services from Pakistan in the west to Japan in the east and New Zealand in the south. It offers full ship management services for all types of vessel through technical management, crew management, new building supervision, pre-purchase inspection, docking management, supplies management, accounting services and quality assurance consulting.
VSA offers economies of scale for the procurement of parts, equipment, and services, and access to sophisticated management systems.
In 2004, Altus became a strategic investor in V. Ships Holdings Ltd by swapping its shares in VSA to the parent holding company V Ships Holdings Ltd.
PT Altus Logistics Services Indonesia - In 2004, Altus became a strategic partner of PT Altus Logistics Services Indonesia ("PT ALSI"). PT ALSI possesses the license to perform supply chain management services in Indonesia . PT ALSI owns 70% PT Altus Laju Samarinda ("PT ALS") which owns and operate a transshipment barge located off the coast of Samarinda . PT ALS holds a medium term contract to transship three million tons of coal.
Allied Pickford - Altus Logistics ( Vietnam ) Ltd became the Authorised Representative for Allied International in September 2004. Allied International, with world headquarters in Chicago , is a part of SIRVA, Inc. , the world's largest relocation and logistics company.
Allied International was founded in 1967 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Allied Van Lines . America's first van line, Allied was founded in 1928 and, for nearly seven decades, has maintained an enviable reputation for industry leadership-a reputation built on an overriding commitment to dependable, top-quality service and supported by a genuine respect and concern for the well-being of the customer's goods.
Allied International handles more than 40,000 shipments annually, coordinating ground, air, and ocean transportation services for household goods and general commodities destined to and/or originating from all points on the globe.
